Now in Seattle
Sunday. I am in Seattle for OOPSLA 2002.
Yes! I am finally connected at my hotel in Seattle. A fast wireless connection. And a rented cell phone to deal with stupid American systems. I have already been in touch with friends and loved ones - and I can get some work done here later this week. Alright!
Seattle Seahawks - Washington Redskins: 3-14. Not a very good game. But it was fun seeing a Sunday football game live anyway.
Sleepless in Seattle
Nine hours time-zone difference from Stockholm.
All day tutorial: Automated Software Testing: Hands On and Interactive! I work more and more with unit testing, so I really enjoyed this one. Great teachers - and they made a brave attempt to turn a two-day course with computers into one-day without. It worked surprisingly well.
It felt good to do something fairly concrete today. Wild architectural flights of fancy and visionary methodology stuff is fun - but testing is where things like XP become real.
Afterwards I had dinner with the others. There are eleven of us here at OOPSLA - it’s nice to work with people who care about these things.
